LAHORE: Private schools across the province have refused to comply with Punjab government’s decision to grant early summer vacations due to growing heat and the arrival of Ramzan.
On Thursday, the provincial government announced that schools will remain closed from May 17 to August 9. The decision of announcing early vacations was made in view of the holy month of Ramzan, which is likely to begin from May 17.
It was also said that the schools who fail to comply with the decision will be “heavily fined”.
The private school owners, however, have refused to abide by the government’s notification saying that the examinations are underway and in such circumstances, it is not possible to grant summer vacations.
