The Senate on Friday granted extension to two standing committees for laying reports on various matters referred to them and also witnessed presentation of nine reports of various senate bodies.
The House passed three motions granting extension to Standing Committee on Law and Justice for presentation of reports on three legislative proposals including the Specific Relief (Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Limitation (Amendment) Bill, 2022 and the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2022 (Amendment of Articles 1,51,59,106,154,175A,198, and 218 ).
Likewise, Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs was also granted extension for presentation of report on a starred question regarding the number of countries visited by Prime Minister of Pakistan during the last three years in official capacity along with the names of persons, their designations and scale who accompanied Prime Minister and duration of stay abroad with date wise breakup.
Nine reports of various standing committees were also presented in the House which were on various parliamentary interventions referred to them. Five reports were on as many legislative proposals including the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Bill, 2022; the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council Bill, 2022; the Guardians and Wards (Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Regulation of Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electric Power (Amendment) Bill, 2022 and the State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Bill, 2022.
Four remaining reports related to on starred questions regarding closing of PIA booking office in Hyderabad, non-operational Moenjodaro Airport, District Larkana and low existing rental ceiling of Government employees in BS 1-2 and non-release of share of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from NFC Award.
